As soon as I reached Patrika Gate, I saw a huge elaborate pink gate topped by luscious trees, which I could not help but be amazed to see. Oh, Man! This is just the beginning, let’s take you inside. Inside the gate, I got to find a phenomenal Rainbow Walkway! As I walked under the gate, I found a row of magnificent archways. Each one is decorated keeping in mind Rajasthani culture. I was truly mesmerized by the decoration and kept admiring every detail. I clicked Insta-worthy pictures with my sister. That’s why this gate serves as one of the top Instagrammable-worthy spots in Jaipur. It’s truly incredible.

History of Patrika Gate

Patrika Gate Jaipur was built on the basis of the seven original heritage gates that were used to provide access to the walled city of Jaipur. This gate is relatively a new attraction. Patrika Gate is now the ninth gate of Jaipur and was named after a local newspaper company. It was built and opened to the public in 2016.

Patrika Gate is a unique monument showcasing the architectural and cultural heritage of all the regions of Rajasthan. The art, craft, and cultural heritage of Rajasthan have been integrated into a single structure in this incredible monument. Located on the busiest Jawaharlal Nehru Marg of Jaipur, this gate has been attracting everyone ever since it was built.

While designing the Patrika Gate, the southern gate of Jaipur, special attention has been paid to the nine-point Vastu principle. There are a total of nine pavilions, each is 9 feet wide. The width of the gate is 81 feet and the height is 108 feet which matches the width of the main bazaars of the walled city.
