I never thought I’d go on a solo date! But it happened because destiny had other plans. I used to think that a coffee date was something to be enjoyed only with friends, family, or someone special. But here I was wrong because when girls used to flaunt their solo coffee dates on social media, I too thought I could go. I wanted to go for it, but I never quite mustered the courage. But this happened – because I used to manifest it every single day. So people who say manifestations don’t work —this is the answer for them—it actually works. The day came to me on the very first day of June.

Why this thought came to me

Because I have always thought of doing something different. And when I saw girls going on solo coffee dates, I thought—why not me? So this was always in my mind, but I had a fear of implementing it. But they say to take risks because it helps you get out of your comfort zone. I always wanted to get out of my comfort zone, and so I took this very beautiful step. When the day dawned, I got out of my bed, and I made a wish to go for a solo date. So, I was ready and excited for this.

When this idea began to lose momentum

As time went on, things started coming to my mind—yes, you name it — overthinking. What if something happens? What if… That was constantly on my mind, and I was like, ummm…… should I go or not? Yes, apart from making up my mind to go out, these things were hovering like a dusty cloud in my mind. But as time passed, the clock ticked 3.30 p.m. I stared at it for a while, and then I just got up from my bed. Washed my face and started getting ready for this first-ever solo date in my city.

And I stepped out of my Comfort Zone

I know how to drive. But I still ditched the idea of going by my own vehicle. I thought of taking a cab. But the universe had other plans. I started booking a cab. But, ufff, the driver was confused about my location. The cab didn’t arrive at my door, and it had been almost 20 minutes, so I canceled the booking. When the clock was showing 4.30 p.m. I got upset. What if my dream doesn’t come true? Maybe today isn’t the right day to go out, and overthinking gripped me. So after much deliberation, I finally made up my mind and got on my scooter and headed out on my solo coffee date. When I was driving, I really felt relieved. “I took the best decision,” I said to myself.

I visited a Bookstore first

Firstly, I went to a bookstore—Crossword. As soon as I entered, I felt I had come to an amazing place. Wherever I looked, there were only books and people buying them. I looked carefully at each bookshelf and touched the books, and my heart was filled with joy. I spent about an hour there, flipping through the books and soaking in their scent, and I bought three books. Then, on my way back from the bookstore, I stopped at a cafe.

Choosing my perfect cup of coffee

I entered. The ambiance of that cafe was so peaceful. The dim lighting and soft music created a cozy atmosphere. I sat there and asked for the menu card. I ordered an iced latte. The cafe attendant was very nice, and he asked me about my preferences before making the coffee. In a while, my favorite coffee was right in front of me. I inhaled its smell, and a smile persisted on my lips. I enjoyed the coffee while soaking myself in the cozy ambience, the sweet smell of coffee, and the views from the window.

Enjoyed my own company

You won’t believe that I was the only customer when I entered the cafe. And this made me feel a bit awkward, but after entering and talking to the staff, my awkwardness vanished, and I felt confident. I put my mobile aside and simply soaked in the ambiance; when the coffee was placed before me, I took my time and truly savored every single sip. I realized that yes, you can have a great time on your own. A solo date helps you spend time with yourself, allowing you to get to know yourself better.

A date I’ll always remember

After having my coffee, I bought a chocolate pastry and a sandwich for home. I had a wide smile on my face the entire way. I really loved enjoying time with myself. I came home with incredible memories, and they have left a deep impression on my heart. I really loved my first-ever solo coffee date.

Final Thought

There comes a moment in life when you realize that you have devoted your precious time to others, but never spared 5 minutes with yourself, where it’s only you and your company. So, this article is dedicated to every woman who is not taking time for herself and waiting for the perfect moment. I would like to say to them- If you keep waiting for the perfect moment, that will never come, actually. You have to do it for yourself. You have to take some time out for yourself. In the end, I would say that women must experience a solo date or a solo trip because it teaches us many things that we can never learn by staying at home.

Have you ever gone on a solo date or taken a solo trip? I would love to hear about your experiences.
