Why is Traveling So Important in Life? A Complete Guide

Life would be dull if there were no trace of traveling in it. We get up every day, do our chores, and then go to work. Many people’s lives simply pass in this monotony, while a few people actually enjoy life because they make time to go on journeys. And I’m one of these few people because I’ve been traveling since childhood. I got a chance to explore various cities in my country, India. And I got to know different cultures as well.

What could be a greater stroke of good fortune than this? After all, not everyone gets this opportunity—or perhaps it would be more accurate to say that while the opportunity does arise, people fail to make the most of it.

Travel is the best teacher

You know the best part of Travelling is — it teaches us amazing life lessons. Those life lessons we never learned in school, such as how to meet people, how to think creatively and adapt to any kind of situation, how to get out of your comfort zone, how to experience different cultures, how to not sweat the small stuff, how to open yourself up to a world of human interaction, etc., etc.

Travel gets you out of your comfort zone

Whenever I go on a trip, I get really excited about planning, what to pack, etc. It all feels so thrilling. I get butterflies in my stomach, and my heart fills with a unique kind of excitement. Visiting new places, meeting new people, tasting new food, experiencing a new culture—it’s all so exciting. That is exactly why we should go on trips. It helps you step out of your comfort zone. It breaks the monotony of your life. You get a chance to know different cultures, which you will never know while living in your comfort zone.

Travel helps you discover yourself

Traveling is not only about discovering yourself but also a way of knowing about yourself. What you like, what you feel, what your dreams are, everything. I still remember when I used to go on a trip with my trip; I loved to roam after dinner, I loved to collect seashells, I loved to see new people, I loved to eat different cuisines, etc. So, whether as a little girl or now as a young woman, I love doing exploring things. Women spend all their time caring for others, but they don’t take some time out for themselves, and they forget about their favorite things. So, it is time to take care of yourself, step out of that monotonous life, and go for a trip. And no, you don’t need to go miles away; you can enjoy it in your hometown or a nearby place. Curate a list of sightseeing spots and just go. The book Eat, Pray, Love is an amazing read about discovering yourself.

Traveling opens your mind

If you start living life in a fixed routine, it eventually becomes monotonous. So it is only up to you to break this monotonous life. And travel helps you a lot. You simply must step out to open your mind, which has become dull from remaining in one place. When you meet different people, explore different cultures, and eat various cuisines during your travels, this helps you develop your mind. A sense of self-confidence also develops within your mind. Travel creates memories that stay with you

If you think about what traveling can give you, then it is those precious memories. And these aren’t just memories, but amazing life lessons that you learn during your travel. I’ve been traveling since I was only four. All thanks to my Dad; he used to take us to different, different places in India during his job. Since my father was fond of traveling, this quality has been inherited by me. Traveling teaches a lot that a school can’t, and I completely relate to this perception that traveling is the best teacher. I have so many memories of traveling that I could write a book, haha. Jokes apart, I feel that I have lived too many stories during my travels, which are really close to my heart. I am ready to create even more memories. And I am thinking about traveling from Kashmir to Kanyakumari by different trains.

Travel helps you experience new cultures and cuisines

Every place has its culture and its cuisine. Likewise: Kerala’s Sadya, Andhra’s Hyderabadi Biryani, South India’s Idli, Dosa, Pongal, Kolkata’s Machher Jhol, Mishti Doi, Rajasthan’s Dal Baati Churma, Bihar’s Litti Chokha, Himachal’s Siddu, Northeast’s Momo, Thukpa, etc. All this you can enjoy during your travels. I got the opportunity to explore the diverse cultures of different parts of India. If I had not had the chance to travel, I would not have experienced them.

Traveling teaches you Self-Love

I am saying this because of my personal experience. Before that trip, I was lost, numb, and stressed. But my perspective changed when I went on this Self-love trip; I felt happier and more energetic. I’ll always remember it, and it will remain close to my heart. Because of this trip, I understood what self-love is. I learned about it. And I will always call it the Self-Love trip. I had a lot of fun. I became a better version of myself and came in front of everyone as a new person who only loves herself now. I started to love myself the way I am, and when you do start to love yourself, then you don’t need someone else’s love.

Final Words

So before I wrap up, all I want to say is: – be a responsible traveler. Do not litter here and there. Don’t harm Mother Nature. Always carry a refilled water bottle with you. Experience local and little things over luxurious things. Curate a list of those places that are on your bucket list. So what are you waiting for? Implement your plans, grab your backpack, and start a wonderful journey.
